Reviews and Ratings
I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The junior suite was impressively spacious, clean, and newly furnished, which was a definite highlight. However, the hotel can get quite busy, especially during peak times with all those hungry travelers waiting. Service was fairly friendly and helpful overall, with a notable positive being the staff providing a kettle upon request, a big plus point. On the downside, leaving all passports unattended on the main desk was a concern. The location was amazing, right across the square from Moscow train station, making it perfect for sightseeing and catching the high-speed train to Moscow. Dining was plain, with plenty to eat but lacking variety that might appeal to Western Europeans. Facilities were decent, though improvement could be made in keeping hot foods hot and providing more fresh options. In terms of quality/price, the hotel sits at the end of Nevsky, which is quite convenient.
The hotel's rooms are basic with carpets and stuffy air, small and of average quality, popular with tour companies, but very cold during my stay. The service is friendly overall, but the reception staff were rude and inattentive during check-in. The location is nice and convenient, near public transportation options and the main attractions. The dining experience was nice with a good variety of choices. The facilities are adequate for a comfortable stay.
I had a wonderful stay overall at this hotel. The rooms were basic but filled with light, providing an excellent atmosphere despite some challenges with English communication. The service was top-notch, with fluent English-speaking and helpful staff. The location was ideal, right in the center and close to the metro station. The dining experience was unexpectedly delightful, offering a decent spread of food. The facilities were sufficient for a comfortable stay.
The hotel is conveniently located right in the center of St Petersburg, just across the square from Moscow train station, making it a great spot for exploring the city. The rooms are spacious, with good lighting and soundproofing, but finding our way to the back of the hotel was a little challenging. The staff was unhelpful and refused assistance, which was disappointing. The dining experience offered a buffet-style spread with a good variety of hot and cold foods. The facilities were average, but the location and value for money were definite highlights of our stay.
I decided to book a suite in this hotel, and despite its smaller size and lack of a view, I found it very clean and tidy. The street outside was extremely noisy, which was a downside.
The hotel is quite posh and roomy with a great location near the metro and wide rooms. The staff were helpful and the internet service was good. However, the hotel can be very busy when it opens and the two small beds were a bit far apart which made it confusing to find the room in December 2004.
My stay at Oktiabrskaya Ligovsky 3* was a mixed experience. The rooms were terrible, very old, and lacked thick curtains to block sunlight, making it hard to rest comfortably. However, the service was very nice and accommodating. The location was not ideal, not really in the city center, but it was near the railway station and main road. The dining experience was above average, but the options were limited. Overall, the facilities were satisfactory, but could use some improvement.
The hotel is ideally located in the heart of St Petersburg, opposite Moscow Railway Station, making it convenient for exploring the city. The rooms are clean and quiet, although smaller than expected, with a large bath and ample towels provided. The service, while efficient with fluent English speakers, could be more friendly. The dining options, while basic, offer a good spread with organic fruits. The facilities are satisfactory overall.
The hotel is ideally located in the very center of St Petersburg, close to Nevsky Prospekt and a metro station. The rooms are cozy and quiet, even at 1 am, with a small bedroom and living room. The staff is not hospitable, and leaving passports unattended is a concern. The dining options are varied, but some items may not appeal to all guests.
My stay at the Oktiabrskaya Ligovsky 3* was a mixed experience. The rooms were spacious but not very clean, and the noise from the street was quite bothersome. However, the hotel had decent internet wifi and was a smaller, refurbished property.
